Ambrane PP-40 Review

The Quick Verdict

The Ambrane PP-40 is a no-frills power bank focused on affordability. With 40000mAh capacity (26000mAh real output, 6+ charges) and 10W charging, it covers the basics without breaking the bank. At a substantial 750g, it is the budget-friendly choice.

The Good

Massive 40000mAh Capacity

With 40000mAh, this power bank delivers approximately 26000mAh of real-world output. You can charge your phone 6+ times before needing to recharge the power bank itself. Perfect for long weekends, extended travel, or powering multiple devices.

Budget-Friendly Pricing

The Ambrane PP-40 is one of the most affordable power banks in its capacity class. It makes reliable external power accessible without a significant investment. If you need basic charging without premium features, this keeps costs low while getting the job done.

Dependable Basic Charging

At 10W output, the Ambrane PP-40 provides consistent, reliable charging for overnight top-ups or emergency power. It is not designed for speed, but for dependable power delivery when you need it most.

Versatile Triple Output

With 2x USB-A + 1x USB-C, you can charge up to three devices simultaneously. Modern USB-C for laptops and tablets, plus USB-A for older devices and accessories. This flexibility means you can charge your phone, earbuds, and a friend's device all at once.

The Bad

Micro-USB Input in 2026

Using Micro-USB for charging the power bank itself feels outdated when most phones and laptops have moved to USB-C. You will need to carry a separate Micro-USB cable just to recharge the power bank, adding clutter to your travel kit.

Very Slow Self-Charging

At 10W input, recharging this 40000mAh power bank takes 8-12 hours. You will need to leave it plugged in overnight. This is a significant inconvenience if you need to top up the power bank quickly between uses.

Slow Charging for the Capacity

At just 10W output, recharging a 40000mAh power bank takes considerable time. The mismatch between the massive capacity and slow charging speed means you need to plan ahead. Expect 10+ hours for a full recharge.

Bulky at 750g

Weighing 750g, this power bank is substantial. It takes up noticeable space in a bag and adds weight. Not ideal for minimalist travelers or daily carry — think of it as a dedicated travel companion.

No Pass-Through Charging

You cannot charge the power bank and your devices simultaneously. This means you need to dedicate time to recharge the power bank separately, which can be inconvenient during travel.

Who Should Buy

Buy Ambrane PP-40 if you are on a tight budget and need basic external power. It is perfect as a backup power bank kept in your car, office drawer, or emergency kit. Also suitable for children or elderly family members who just need their phones to stay charged.

Who Should Look Elsewhere

Look elsewhere if you need fast charging — the 10W output will feel slow. If you want USB-C connectivity, modern features like pass-through charging, or a digital display, you will need to spend more on a higher-tier power bank.

Bottom Line

Ambrane PP-40 is the definition of budget-friendly — basic, affordable, and functional. It is not fast or feature-packed, but it will keep your devices charged. A sensible choice if price is your primary concern.
